Yeonchon camp was designed to preserve wild flowers in the area by a group of volunteers from Germany, Italy, Sweden, UK, Japan, Korea, India and the Philippines. Other activities include building a wooden bridge, farming with a disabled soldier, and picking up garbage along a river bank. Yeonchon is an agricultural town. It is South Korea’s northernmost, and very close to DMZ. Ginseng farming is common here. It has Hantan-gang and Imjin-gang, two rivers wild enough for the serious white water rafter. But it is also a place where Dog food is a delicacy, and where Tofu and Soju (local wine) are offered by locals, plenty enough to make your stomach grumble, and to make you see double!

The volunteers found a home here, and also a bed, a special kind of bed, a stone bed
