YAP AustriaThis is a featured page

The organisation: YAP Austria is an organisation involved in youth activities. It provides opportunities to young people wishing to go abroad to work in a social project. YAP Austria also offers short time projects in Austria, and offers to host people from abroad to work in these projects. The aim of the ‘outgoing’ program is to enable young people as well as adults to learn and understand other cultures and languages to promote peace through intercultural tolerance and understanding among people. The aim of the ‘incoming’ program is to offer similar opportunities to young people to come to Austria in order learn about the culture and to live and work with Austrians. This promotes local tolerance to foreigners, as local people come into contact with them as well as to provide the ‘real insight’ about the reality of ’developed Europe’ to people from eastern Europe and other countries from other continents.
