CHANTIERS JEUNESSE IN A FEW WORDS...
| Historique Chantiers jeunesse (CJ) est un organisme sans but lucratif qui a été fondée en 1980. Initialement créé pour des participants québécois au Québec, des échanges internationaux furent rapidement mis sur pied avec des associations françaises et belges. Dans les années 80, les échanges internationaux se réalisaient presque entièrement avec la France et la Belgique. Depuis 1992, Chantiers jeunesse a augmenté graduellement ses activités internationales et diversifié la provenance de ses partenaires, afin d'augmenter les pays d'échange. Actuellement, nous travaillons en partenariat avec une cinquantaine d’organismes de chantiers répartis dans plus de 30 pays d'échange. Annuellement, nous envoyons 200 volontaires à l'étranger et accueillons environ 200 volontaires étrangers et québécois sur nos chantiers. Mission Chantiers jeunesse est un organisme à but non lucratif qui vise à favoriser le développement de jeunes citoyens actifs et engagés, à appuyer le développement d’une communauté et du plein potentiel des personnes en offrant des lieux d’apprentissages et de formation en collaboration avec des partenaires d’ici et d’ailleurs, et ce dans un esprit de solidarité et de respect des différences. En plus de viser l'atteinte des objectifs ci-haut, les échanges internationaux ont pour but de susciter l'engagement social et favoriser la communication et la compréhension interculturelle entre des personnes de cultures et de nationalités différentes. Activités Chantiers jeunesse organise des projets de volontariat qui se déroulent au Québec. · Nous organisons des chantiers internationaux au Québec. Les groupes sont composés d’une douzaine de jeunes provenant du Québec et de plus de vingt pays d’Europe, d’Europe de l’Est, d’Amérique du Nord et d’Asie. · Nous·Nous envoyons de jeunes Québécois de 15 à 30 ans participer à des chantiers internationaux à l'étranger dans plus de 30 pays d'échange. De plus, Chantiers jeunesse développe des projets spéciaux : · Stages individuels. o Nous envoyons des MTV à l'étranger (dans les bureaux de nos partenaires ou dans une communauté locale) et accueillons des MTV dans nos bureaux; o Nous réalisons des échanges d’animateurs. · chantiers d’initiation à l’engagement communautaire (groupes scolaires). Parcours éducatif de cinq mois au cours desquels un groupe d’une douzaine de jeunes de 15 à 17 ans d’une école secondaire se sensibilisent au milieu communautaire et participent à un chantier de jeunes bénévoles d’une ou deux semaines, dans une région du Québec ou à l’étranger. · autres projets spéciaux, tels que chantiers familles, stages professionnels, etc. LES CHANTIERS INTERNATIONAUX Chaque année, Chantiers jeunesse organise entre 10 et 20 chantiers internationaux au Québec. La durée de ces chantiers est généralement de 3 semaines. Des projets ont lieu en toute saisons, mais principalement entre mai et novembre. Chaque groupe est habituellement composé de 12 volontaires (8-9 internationaux, 3-4 Québécois) et de 1 ou 2 animateurs. Le travail Les volontaires travaillent en moyenne 30 heures par semaine. Le travail est généralement d'ordre manuel: protection de l'environnement, construction, rénovation, patrimoine historique, aide technique pour des fêtes populaires, etc. Les volontaires n'ont pas à posséder des compétences particulières. Hébergement, nourriture, loisirs Les volontaires sont logés et nourris. Le groupe dispose d'un petit budget pour la découverte du milieu et a souvent accès à un minibus pour leurs déplacements pendant une partie du chantier. L'hébergement varie d'un projet à l'autre : chalet, petite maison ou encore salle communautaire. Les volontaires doivent préparer eux-mêmes leurs repas. L'approche pédagogique L'approche pédagogique priorisée est la gestion et la démocratie participative, visant l'expérimentation, la réussite, le partenariat, la responsabilisation et la prise en charge du projet par les jeunes. Les volontaires doivent s'impliquer activement dans la vie du chantier et prendre des responsabilités : planification des travaux, horaire de travail, organisation des loisirs, etc. Le groupe gère le budget, avec l'appui des animateurs. Le contact et les activités avec la population locale sont fortement favorisés. Les animateurs Il y a 1 ou 2 animateurs sur chaque chantier. Leur rôle est de permettre aux volontaires de prendre le plus d'initiatives et de responsabilités possibles. Ils sont aussi des personnes-ressources et s'assurent que le chantier se déroule bien. La présence d'un "expert" technique est la responsabilité du partenaire d’accueil (bailleur d'ouvrage). Âge limite Les chantiers sont accessibles aux gens âgés de 18 à 30 ans. Parfois nous organisons des projets pour les jeunes de 15-17 ans. Langues utilisées sur le chantier Nos chantiers internationaux se déroulent en anglais et en français (principalement l'anglais). Les chantiers 15-17 ans se déroulent en français. Assurance Chantiers jeunesse possède une assurance responsabilité civile pour les participants pendant le chantier. Les volontaires doivent avoir une assurance médico-hospitalière valide pour la durée du projet. Permis de travail temporaire et visa Tous les volontaires doivent OBLIGATOIREMENT avoir un permis de travail temporaire et, si requis, un visa. Le volontaire doit faire une demande d’Autorisation d’emploi, avant de partir, auprès des Services d'immigration du Consulat canadien (et fournir plusieurs documentsqui peuvent varier selon le Consulat : formulaire IMM 1295B, lettre d’invitation de Chantiers jeunesse, photocopie du passeport, photos, preuve de fonds suffisant - copie du compte bancaire). Avant de partir, il doit recevoir une lettre émise par les services d'immigration du Consulat canadien afin de la présenter à la frontière canadienne et obtenir un permis de travail temporaire. Ce permis est exigé par les autorités canadiennes, même si le travail est fait sur une base bénévole. Ce permis s'obtient assez facilement, mais il faut prévoir en moyenne 3 à 4 semaines. Cependant, depuis le 1e janvier 2008, le Gouvernement du Canada a décidé d’imposer des frais de $150 CAD pour l’émission de tout permis de travail temporaire. Pour qu'un permis soit émis à un volontaire, il faut que ce volontaire vienne au Canada dans le cadre d'un échange entre 2 associations, confirmé par un protocole d'entente. Pour cette raison, il est impossible d'accueillir des volontaires à titre individuel sur nos chantiers. Le jour avant le début du chantier Pour les projets d’été, les vendredis soirs, juste avant les départs pour les chantiers internationaux se tiendra un "4 à 7" qui regroupera les volontaires et des gens de Chantiers jeunesse dans une ambiance informelle et "ben relaxe". On se retrouvera toutes et tous autour d'une bonne bière, à partir de 16 heures, dans un petit bar sympa de Montréal. Informez vos volontaires avant qu'ils achètent leur billet d'avion au sujet du "4 à 7"! | History Chantiers jeunesse (CJ) is a non-profit organization founded in 1980. At first for volunteers from Québec on projects in Québec only, international exchanges were rapidly developed with French and Belgian organizations. In the 80's, international exchanges were realised almost entirely with France and Belgium. Since 1992, Chantiers jeunesse increased gradually its international activities and diversified the number of partner organizations to increase the number of exchange countries. We co-operate with about 50 organisations spread more than 30 different countries. Each year, we are sending about 200 volunteers abroad and welcoming about 200 volunteers from abroad and from Quebec on our projects. Mission Chantiers jeunesse is a non-profit and non-governmental organization aiming to the development of active and engaged young citizen, to support local development and to support the development of the entire potential of the persons. We offer learning and training opportunities in collaboration with partners from here and abroad, based on solidarity and respect of differences. In addition of fulfilling these above‑mentioned goals, the objectives of the international exchanges program are to incite social involvement and encourage intercultural communication and understanding between people from different countries and cultures. Activities Chantiers jeunesse mainly organizes voluntary work projects. These projects take place in Québec. · We organize International workcamps in Québec. The groups are formed of a dozen young individuals from the Province of Quebec and from more than twenty countries of Europe, Eastern Europe, North America and Asia. · We send volunteers from Québec, aged 15 to 30 years old, on International workcamps abroad spread in more than 30 different countries. Moreover, Chantiers jeunesse is developing special projects: · Individual projects. o We send MTVs abroad (in our partner’s office or in a local community) and we are welcoming MTVs in our office; o We carry out leaders exchanges. · Community involvement initiation workcamps (school groups). A five months educative program during which a dozen of youth aged 15 to 17 from a high school are getting aware of the community sphere and take part in a youth workcamp, in a region of Québec or abroad. · Other special projects like Family workcamps, professional internships, etc. INTERNATIONAL WORKCAMPS Each year, Chantiers jeunesse organizes between 10 and 20 international workcamps. The duration of these projects is usually 3 weeks and they take place mainly from May to November. Each group gathers 12 volunteers (8-9 from abroad, 3-4 from Québec) and 1 or 2 group leaders. Work The volunteers work an average of 30 hours a week. Work is usually manual: environmental protection, construction, renovation, heritage, technical support for popular festivals, etc. No particular skills are required. Accommodation, food, leisure Lodging and food are provided for all volunteers. A small budget to discover the surroundings is given to the group and a minibus is often available to the group for a part of the workcamp. The accommodation is variable: cottage, little house, community centre and sometimes tents. The volunteers prepare their own meals. Educational approach Chantiers jeunesse promotes participatory and democratic management as an approach to encourage volunteers to take responsibilities and become self‑reliant through experimentation, success and partnership. The volunteers have to be involved in the camp life and take responsibilities such as planning of the work, of work schedule, organization of activities, etc. The group manages the budget together, with the support of the group leaders. Contact and activities with the local community are strongly favoured. Group leaders There are 1 or 2 group leaders on each project. Their role is to encourage the volunteers to take initiatives and responsibilities. They are resource persons and make sure that the workcamp runs smoothly. The presence of a technical "expert" is the responsibility of the local organization. Age limit Our projects are open to volunteers between 18 to 30 years old. We sometimes organize projects for teenagers (15-17 years old). Camp languages The camp languages on international workcamps are both English and French (mostly English). The teenage projects are taking place in French. Insurance Chantiers jeunesse provides a liability‑insurance for volunteers during the workcamp. The volunteers MUST get a valid medical insurance for the duration of the project. Temporary work permit and visa The temporary work permit is MANDATORY for all volunteers and the volunteer should get, if required, a visa. The volunteer must, before leaving, make a request for an Employment Authorisation to the Immigration Services of a Canadian Consulate (and provide many documents varying according to the Consulate : form IMM 1295B, invitation letter from Chantiers jeunesse, copy of the passport, photos, proof of sufficient funds – copy of the bank account statement). Before leaving, he/she must receive a letter delivered by Immigration Services of a Canadian Consulate. He/She must present this letter at the Canadian border to obtain a temporary work permit. This permit is required by Canadian authorities even if the work is on voluntary basis. This permit is usually easy to get, but the process takes around 3-4 weeks. However, starting January 1st 2008, the Canadian Government decided to impose a fee of 150$ CAD to deliver all temporary work permits. For such a permit to be issued, the volunteer has to come to Canada in the framework of an exchange between two organizations, documented by an exchange agreement. For this reason, it is impossible to receive volunteers on an individual basis. The day before the beginning of the project For Summer projects, each Friday night, just before the departure to the international workcamps there will be a "4 à 7" (a happy hour) gathering volunteers and some people from Chantiers jeunesse in a relax and informal atmosphere, starting at 4:00 PM, in a "cool" little bar of Montréal. Please, inform your volunteers before they buy their plane ticket about this "4 à 7"! |

For the last 4 years, Chantiers jeunesse is adding projects after the Technical Meeting since most of the answers for national and local funding are confirmed after the TM. This year will be no exception!
· Before mid-April, we will add a few more workcamps. As soon as the projects are confirmed, we will send you the descriptions by e-mail!
· In May and June, we will add some projects taking place in the fall.
· The projects will be published at least 2 months before the beginning of the workcamps.
· New: we are offering MTV projects this summer!

Depuis 4 ans, Chantiers jeunesse ajoute des projets après le Technical Meeting car plusieurs réponses de financement au niveau national et local se confirment après le TM (contraintes de calendrier!). L’année 2008 ne fera pas exception!

More than 10 years ago, the municipality and groups of Chantiers jeunesse began the transformation of an abandoned site into a new green space right in the centre of town, located some 30 km north of Montréal. The site, known as the “Pit à Charron” (the Charron’s Pit) is a former quarry and was for many years a garbage dump! The groups toiled away to clean cleaning the site and begin a landscaping job. We are, as a result, a long way from the first two phases when 800 tires were found and the first paths and trails were built! This site is now a nature park well known by the whole community. Participants have helped with the installation of windmills used to filter the water of the ponds. One of these ponds has, by the way, been named after Chantiers jeunesse to honour the groups! Welcome to the “Jardin des Sources” (Springs Garden)!
WORK: Two groups will follow one another this Summer, in July and August to improve the accessibility of the site for the citizen and to bring out the ecological and natural character of the site. Moreover, you will get the chance to work with youths from the Ste-Thérèse Youth Club. Here is the challenge that awaits you in this bird’s paradise:
· To widen and solidify the paths around the lakes;
· To build park furniture (tables, benches, etc.) and to repair the wooden stairs near the lakes;
· To clear some areas of the undergrowth in the park;
· To plant trees and shrubs to diminish erosion and aquatic plants in the filtering marsh of Chantiers jeunesse Lake;
Work will be divided among the two phases (July and August) according to the workcamp’s progress.

PARTENAIRE D’ACCUEIL: Ville de Sainte-Thérèse
Il y a plus de dix ans, les gens de la Ville de Sainte-Thérèse et des groupes de Chantiers jeunesse ont amorcé la transformation d’un site abandonné en un nouvel espace vert en plein cœur de la ville située à une trentaine de kilomètres au nord de Montréal. Ce site, connu sous le nom du "Pit à Charron", était anciennement une carrière et pendant plusieurs années... un dépotoir! Les groupes ont trimé dur pour nettoyer le site et commencer l’aménagement. Nous sommes donc loin des premières phases où 800 pneus ont été trouvés et les premiers sentiers aménagés! Cet endroit est maintenant devenu un parc naturel reconnu par toute la population. Les participants ont même aidé à installer des éoliennes qui servent à filtrer l'eau des étangs. L’un de ces étangs a d’ailleurs été baptisé le lac Chantiers jeunesse en l’honneur des groupes! Bienvenue au Jardin des Sources!
PROJET DE TRAVAIL
Deux groupes de chantier se succèderont cet été, en juillet et en août, pour rendre le site encore plus accessible aux citoyens et mettre en valeur le caractère naturel et écologique du site. De plus, vous aurez l’occasion de travailler avec des jeunes de la Maison des jeunes de Sainte-Thérèse au Jardin des Sources. Voici le défi qui vous est offert dans cet oasis pour les oiseaux:
· Élargir et consolider des sentiers longeant les lacs;
· Construire du mobilier (tables, bancs, etc.) et réparer des escaliers de bois près des lacs;
· Nettoyer certaines parties du boisé du parc;
· Planter des arbres et arbustes pour atténuer l’érosion et des plantes aquatiques dans le marais filtrant du lac Chantiers jeunesse;
Les travaux seront répartis sur chacune des deux phases (juillet et août) selon le déroulement du chantier.

The Domaine Montauban is located in the countryside, at the border between the Eastern Townships and the Chaudière-Appalaches region. It is indeed located near the village of Saint-Jacques-le-Majeur and 12 km from Disraëli. Well, for those not knowing this nice hilly region very well, this picturesque site is located 150 km South of Québec city, between Sherbrooke and Saint-Georges-de-Beauce, not too far from Thetford Mines!
Since 1999, many Lions Club members of the region joined to make of this 200 acres property a site welcoming groups of youths and physically challenged persons, offering them a quiet place for holidays and for education, in the forest and the nature. The site consists of 3 Norman style buildings, two small artificial lakes, a mixed forest and footpaths. People from the organisation did a lot of volunteering to transform this domain and make it suitable for groups because there are no such multi-purpose sites in the region. However, there is still a lot of work to be done so the property can welcome groups on a regular basis. In the summer of 2007, the people from the Domain welcomed a first group from Chantiers jeunesse to give them a hand and they liked the experience so much that they want a new group this summer!
WORK.WORK: The challenge consists in helping the other volunteers of the Domaine in order to make the site more accessible and interesting for the groups. Rural surroundings guaranteed, far fro the city, in company of charming people!
· To clean up underwoods of the Domain;
· To lay out paths and camping sites:
· To go on with the playground development;
· To help with the renovation of some buildings on the site.

PARTENAIRE D’ACCUEIL: Fondation du Domaine Montauban
Le Domaine Montauban est situé en pleine campagne, au carrefour de l’Estrie et de la région de Chaudière-Appalaches. En fait, il est situé tout près du village de Saint-Jacques-le-Majeur et à 12 kilomètres de Disraëli. Bon, pour ceux et celles qui connaissent pas cette belle région vallonnée, ce pittoresque site est situé 150 km au sud de la ville de Québec, entre Sherbrooke et Saint-Georges-de-Beauce, pas tellement loin de Thetford Mines!
Depuis 1999, plusieurs membres des Clubs Lions de la région se sont regroupés pour faire de ce domaine de 200 acres un site pouvant accueillir des groupes de jeunes et des handicapés afin de leur offrir un lieu paisible de vacances et d’éducation en pleine nature et en forêt. Le site possède 3 bâtiments de style normand, deux petits lacs artificiels, une forêt mixte et des sentiers. Les gens de l’organisme ont fait beaucoup de bénévolat pour transformer ce domaine et le rendre utilisable pour des groupes car il n’existe pas de tel endroit polyvalent dans la région. Cependant, il y a beaucoup de travail à faire pour que le domaine puisse vraiment accueillir de façon régulière des groupes. À l’été 2007, un premier groupe de Chantiers jeunesse a donné un coup de main aux gens du Domaine et ces derniers ont tellement aimé l’expérience qu’ils veulent accueillir à nouveau des bénévoles cet été!
PROJET DE TRAVAIL
Le défi consiste à poursuivre les travaux avec les bénévoles du Domaine afin d’aménager le site et le rendre plus accessible et intéressant pour les groupes. Ambiance champêtre assurée, isolée de la ville et en compagnie de gens charmants!
· Nettoyer des sous-bois du Domaine;
· Aménager des sentiers pédestres et des aires de camping sauvage;
· Poursuivre le développement de l’aire de jeux en y faisant de nouveaux aménagements;
· Faire quelques rénovations autour de certains bâtiments sur le site.
HÉBERGEMENT: Dans un bâtiment sur site du Domaine Montauban, le Pavillon Sainte-Julie.

Il y a plus de dix ans, les gens de la Ville de Sainte-Thérèse et des groupes de Chantiers jeunesse ont amorcé la transformation d’un site abandonné en un nouvel espace vert en plein cœur de la ville située à une trentaine de kilomètres au nord de Montréal. Ce site, connu sous le nom du "Pit à Charron", était anciennement une carrière et pendant plusieurs années... un dépotoir! Les groupes ont trimé dur pour nettoyer le site et commencer l’aménagement. Nous sommes donc loin des premières phases où 800 pneus ont été trouvés et les premiers sentiers aménagés! Cet endroit est maintenant devenu un parc naturel reconnu par toute la population. Les participants ont même aidé à installer des éoliennes qui servent à filtrer l'eau des étangs. L’un de ces étangs a d’ailleurs été baptisé le lac Chantiers jeunesse en l’honneur des groupes! Bienvenue au Jardin des Sources!
PROJET DE TRAVAIL
Deux groupes de chantier se succèderont cet été, en juillet et en août, pour rendre le site encore plus accessible aux citoyens et mettre en valeur le caractère naturel et écologique du site. De plus, vous aurez l’occasion de travailler avec des jeunes de la Maison des jeunes de Sainte-Thérèse au Jardin des Sources. Voici le défi qui vous est offert dans cet oasis pour les oiseaux:
· Élargir et consolider des sentiers longeant les lacs;
· Construire du mobilier (tables, bancs, etc.) et réparer des escaliers de bois près des lacs;
· Nettoyer certaines parties du boisé du parc;
· Planter des arbres et arbustes pour atténuer l’érosion et des plantes aquatiques dans le marais filtrant du lac Chantiers jeunesse;
Les travaux seront répartis sur chacune des deux phases (juillet et août) selon le déroulement du chantier.

Near from Montréal, on the South shore of the Saint-Lawrence River between the cities of Longueuil and La Prairie, is a not well-known river: The Saint-Jacques River! This river is one of the last relatively undisturbed urban waterways of the Montréal region. On top of its important biological richness and of its recreational and touristic potential, it still gathers fauna habitats that are significant on the ecological level.
The ZIP Ville-Marie Committee is an organisation that mobilises people from the Montréal area in order to take some actions to protect and to highlight the ecosystems of the Saint-Lawrence River and its affluents. So, in the last 10 years the ZIP Ville Marie members aim to protect this natural environment and wish to show it off and to make it available to the population by creating a conservation park! Their efforts are finally rewarded: a development plan was accepted by the surrounding municipalities in the summer of 2008 we are getting closer to the achievement of the area: the objective is to start the work on the site!
WORK
WORK: You will participate to the first concrete actions around the Saint-Jacques River that will bring the creation of the conservation park!
· To achieve planting 300 trees on the border of the Saint-Jacques River;
· To lay out footpaths and woodland paths;
· To help the laying out of a marsh for the wildfowl;
· If time allows it, to run restoration work of the eroding banks.

Tout près de Montréal, sur la Rive-Sud du Fleuve St-Laurent entre les villes de Longueuil et de La Prairie il existe une rivière méconnue: la rivière Saint-Jacques! Cette rivière est un des derniers cours d'eau urbains relativement intègres dans la région de Montréal. En plus de sa grande richesse biologique et son potentiel récréo-touristique, elle regroupe encore des habitats fauniques importants au niveau écologique.
Le Comité ZIP Ville-Marie est un organisme qui mobilise les gens de la région de Montréal afin de poser des actions visant à protéger et à mettre en valeur les écosystèmes du fleuve Saint-Laurent et de ses affluents. Ainsi, depuis plus de 10 ans, les gens du Comité ZIP Ville-Marie et de la région désirent protéger cet espace naturel et ont le projet de le mettre en valeur et de redonner l’usage de la rivière Saint-Jacques à la population en créant un Parc de conservation! Et leurs efforts sont enfin récompensés: un plan d’aménagement de la rivière Saint-Jacques vient d’être accepté par les municipalités concernés. Pour l’été 2008, on se rapproche de la création du parc: le défi est de commencer les travaux sur le terrain!
PROJET DE TRAVAIL
Participez aux premières étapes concrètes d’aménagement de la rivière Saint-Jacques qui mèneront à la création du parc!
· Faire la plantation de 300 arbres en bordure de la rivière Saint-Jacques;
· Aménager des sentiers pédestres et sylvestres;
· Participer à l’aménagement d’un marais pour la sauvagine;
· Si le temps le permet, effectuer des travaux de restauration de rives en érosion.
HÉBERGEMENT: Dans un centre communautaire (à confirmer).

Welcome in the Bas-Saint-Laurent region, in Rimouski, a charming city located along the impressive Saint-Lawrence River, about 300 km East of Québec City! You will find yourself in the heart of Rimouski giving a hand to the Maison des femmes de Rimouski (the local women center). This organisation is a support place for all the women in the region and aims to strenghten their autonomy and to improve their life conditions. Direct services are provided to the women (counselling, legal advices, women rights defence, etc.) and also, educational activities (collective kitchen, discussion groups and various workshops).
A few years ago, the organisation bought the house where their premises are. The people from the Maison des femmes now want to go on with important improvement works: isolation of the house, plumbing repairs, finishing of the basement to have more space to offer activities to the women. To make the work faster, they want to welcome a motivated group of volunteers that will take part in some of the improvement work of the house!
WORKWORK: You will help the transformation of the unoccupied basement to make it into a basement full of activities!
· To take part in the finishing of the basement (wall building, making of divisions) and to make it in accordance to the norms for such a building (staircase, emergency exit);
· To finish the new rooms (painting, railing installation, etc.);
· To install the floor covering;
· If time and the progress of the work allow it, to do some little outdoor work, around the house.
ACCOMMODATION: Residence near the Maison des femmes and… access to the fully equipped kitchen of the Maison des femmes that is used for the collective kitchen!

Bienvenue dans la région du Bas-Saint-Laurent, à Rimouski, une charmante ville située le long de l’impressionnant fleuve Saint-Laurent, à environ 300 km à l’est de la ville de Québec! Vous vous retrouverez au centre de Rimouski à donner un coup de main à la Maison des femmes de Rimouski. Cet organisme est un lieu d’entraide pour toutes les femmes de la région et vise à favoriser leur autonomie et à améliorer leurs conditions de vie. Des services directs sont offerts aux femmes (écoute, relation d’aide, information juridiques, défense des droits, etc.) ainsi que des activités éducatives (cuisines collectives, café rencontre, ateliers divers).
Il y a quelques années, l’organisme a acheté la maison où se trouvent ses locaux. Les gens de la Maison des femmes veulent maintenant procéder à d’importants travaux d’amélioration: isolation de la maison, réfection de la plomberie, finition du sous-sol afin d’augmenter l’espace qui sert à organiser des activités pour les femmes. Afin d’accélérer les travaux, elles désirent accueillir un groupe de bénévoles motivés qui prendront part à une partie des travaux d’amélioration de la maison!
PROJET DE TRAVAIL
Vous donnerez un coup de main afin de transformer un sous-sol inutilisé en un sous-sol servant à plein d’activités!
· Participer à la finition du sous-sol (monter les murs, faire les divisions) et le rendre conforme aux normes habituelles pour un tel bâtiment (cage d’escalier, sortie de secours);
· Aménager les pièces nouvellement crées (peinture, pose de bordures, etc.);
· Poser le revêtement de sol;
· Si le temps et l’avancement des travaux le permettent, faire quelques aménagements extérieurs autour de la maison.
HÉBERGEMENT: Résidences près de la Maison des femmes et… la cuisine tout équipée de la Maison des femmes qui sert aux cuisines collectives!

CJ-MTV-02 Co-leaders on workcamps 26/06-29/08 2 vols
LOCAL ORGANIZATION:ORGANIZATION: Chantiers jeunesse and local hosts!
In the last years, Chantiers jeunesse sent many co-leaders on workcamps of our partners, mostly in France and in Mexico. This year we would like to welcome co-leaders on our own projects in Québec. After a few days of training in Montréal, the co-leaders will get the chance to lead two workcamps (one in July, one in August), in different regions of the province with a leader from Québec.
WORKWORK: To be a workcamp co-leader is:
· To be responsible for the supervision and realisation of a volunteer wok project in collaboration with another leader;
· To follow up a group of a dozen of young volunteers coming from different countries in the achieving of this project;
· To establish a good relationship between the volunteers, the local host and the local community.
The ideal arrival date is June 26th, in order to attend the training and to be there for the preparation days taking place in the week of June 30th. The end of the project will depend on your availability and of our workcamps.
ADMISSIBILITY CITERIAS
To be aged between 18 and 35 years old
To have previous volunteer experience, preferably to have a leading experience
To be bilingual (French, English)
CONDITIONS: The accommodation in Montréal is provided as well as the Montréal-workcamp place transportation; An allowance of 100$ CAD (70 Euros) a week is given to the co-leader;
During the workcamp, the food and accommodation are provided.
DEADLINE TO APPLY. A CV and a motivation letter have to be sent through our partner organisation on April 15th at the latest. The volunteers selected for a phone interview will have to fill a questionnaire first.
PARTENAIRE D’ACCUEIL: Chantiers jeunesse et des partenaires locaux!
Au cours des dernières années, Chantiers jeunesse a envoyé plusieurs co-animateurs sur les chantiers de nos partenaires, surtout en France et au Mexique. Cette année, nous désirons accueillir des co-animateurs sur nos projets au Québec. Les co-animateurs auront la chance d’animer, avec un animateur du Québec, deux chantiers dans différentes régions du Québec (un en août et un en juillet), suite à une formation de quelques jours qui aura lieu à Montréal.
PROJET DE TRAVAIL
Animer un chantier consiste à:
· Être responsable de l'encadrement et de la réalisation d'un projet de volontariat en collaboration avec un autre animateur;
· Accompagner un groupe d’une douzaine de jeunes volontaires provenant de différents pays dans la réalisation de ce projet;
· Établir le lien entre les volontaires, le partenaire d’accueil et la communauté locale.
La date d’arrivée souhaitée est le 26 juin, pour pouvoir participer à la formation, ainsi qu’au pré-chantier qui aura lieu dans la semaine du 30 juin. La date de fin du projet dépendra de vos disponibilités et de nos chantiers.
CRITÈRES D’ADMISSIBILITÉ
Être âgé entre 18 et 35 ans
Avoir déjà vécu une expérience de volontariat, de préférence avoir déjà animer un chantier
Bilinguisme (français, anglais)
